Overview
Auxiliary Nurse & Midwifery (A.N.M.) is a Diploma Course is a two year duration course with the eligibility of 10+2 (from Arts or Science stream), 10thclass. Students have to secure at least 40-50% marks in the qualifying examination. The minimum age requirement is 17 years. Only female students can apply for this course. Students age should not exceed more than 30 years.
ANM course trains students and make them capable of working as basic health workers. The main aim of ANM course is to train students and make them capable of taking up nursing practice. Special focus is given towards treatment of women, children and old age people.
COURSE DURATION
The total duration of the course is Two years, (18 months + 6 months internship)
FIRST YEAR:-
i. Total Weeks - 52 weeks
ii Vacation - 4 weeks
iii. Gazetted holidays - 2 weeks
iv. Preparatory holidays & examination - 3 weeks
v. Teaching Hours in weeks - 43 weeks X 40 hrs/
weeks = 1720 hrs.
SECOND YEAR (INCLUDING INTERNSHIP)
i. Total Weeks - 52 weeks
ii Vacation - 4 weeks
iii. Gazetted holidays - 2 weeks
iv. Preparatory holidays & examination - 3 weeks
v. Teaching Hours in weeks - 44 weeks X 40 hrs/
weeks = 1760 hrs.
